Turtles have been major influences in mythology and origin stories for hundreds of years. They are one of the oldest symbols to represent the Earth. One of my favourite origin stories comes from the Seneca Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). When Mother Sky fell, the great Turtle rose from the waters to break her fall. 

These turtle dangles feature koroit opals from Queensland, Australia. These stones have nice glow that'll catch in sunlight. They're set in gold fill bezels with hand sawed sterling turtles from recycled silver. The silver has been patina darkened and sanded in places for maximum contrast. This design is Navajo inspired.
