FAQ/Policies

By purchasing one of my pieces, you are indicting you have read and comply with the policies here. Please know that I adhere to these strictly, if you have questions or specific requirements (deadlines, etc.) please ask before purchasing.

Everything I make is hand fabricated- meaning made by hand completely. Everything starts with a sheet of metal and my little coping saw. Because of this items that are made to order may vary ever so slightly from the photographs.

Stones.

Are of quality. I love to use unique and natural stones in my jewelry. None of the turquoise I use is stabilized unless it says so in the product description. Most of what I get is directly from lapidary artists who get their rough from the mine owners or from old stock collections. For each little treasure of a stone I hunt them down at rock and gem shows, or online with the actual cabbers. I have spent years researching the old mines, and researching high quality stones.

Shipping.

Maine state residents will have to pay the 5.5% sales tax-its added to shipping upon checkout.

All jewelry is shipped in eco-friendly boxes (not padded envelopes) to ensure safety while in transit. Shipping price includes not just the cost to ship a parcel but all handling fees and shipping materials. The Cave Lady is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged parcels. I do not mail out replacements. Once a parcel leaves my hands I am not liable for it and it is the responsibility of the customer. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a correct and safe shipping address. If incorrect information is provided the customer will have to pay for any additional shipping corrections.

All items come ready for gift giving but if specific wrapping colors are desired please inquire before purchase. Orders with multiple items may come packaged together to save on shipping materials. If you’d like anything packaged in separate jewelry boxes for gifting please let me know at purchase.

Processing.

Ready to Ship- 3-5 business days.

Made to Order- 1-3 weeks.

Domestic.

All parcels within the USA ship USPS First Class unless a Priority upgrade is requested before purchase.

First Class parcels come automatically with only $50 insurance. If you would like more insurance coverage please inquire before purchase.

International.

All international parcels ship USPS First Class unless a Priority upgrade is requested before purchase.

First Class parcels come automatically with only $50 insurance. If you would like more insurance coverage please inquire before purchase.

Please know I cannot be held responsible if your parcel gets held up in customs, or if you have to pay a customs fee. You alone are responsible for being aware of your country's customs law and for paying them, please do not ask me to falsify shipping documents by marking items with a lesser value or as a gift. This is asking me to break a law and jeopardize my business.

Refunds/Exchanges.

All sales are final. I do not issue refunds or returns on anything that is made to order or custom work. This is made just for you and cannot be sold to others. Custom orders and deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Jewelry care is the customer’s responsibility.

Please read over descriptions carefully.

Size, materials, and details are listed for every item. I will not issue refunds, returns, or exchanges based on dissatisfaction of an item's specifications that are clearly listed. If an item arrives broken or damaged, please contact me immediately and we can work together in a way to fix it.

Rings & Sizing.

Many rings are made according to your ring size, please be aware that I do not refund or exchange based on incorrect sizing. It is the customer’s responsibility to know and order their correct size. I offer a reusable and accurate ring sizer in my shop. I do not recommend using a string to measure your finger's circumference, or using an online guide. These prove to be unreliable.

The Cave Lady does not offer resizing and no rings purchased can be altered or resized.

Please note that all ring sizes in item listings clearly list the size that they will fit. Do not order a smaller or larger size to compensate for ring band width, order your true ring size.

My end aim is to share my work and make you happy.

If you have any issue with your purchase please let me know ASAP and I will try to help to the best of my ability. I am a one woman business and ask to be treated with the same respect I will show you. Additional photos and descriptions of items can always be provided.

Layaway is available on a case by case basis.

Please be aware that I get many inquiries about stone choices. Know that I may be showing the same stones to other customers and nothing is claimed until a design concept is finalized and a deposit is put down.

Care for Jewelry.

All wear and tear or damage to jewelry by the customer is the customer’s responsibility. Do not partake in any wet or strenuous activity while wearing your jewels (dish washing, shower, surfing, boxing, etc.). This goes double for any leather jewelry. Remove jewelry before sleeping or applying lotion as well. Any stone jewelry should not be in contact with water, especially natural turquoise.

Any finish will eventually wear off with time, it's just the way it works. All oxidized silver will evolve in hue and colour over time, and will react differently to each person based on the amount of wear, sweat, etc. If you would like your piece re-oxidized let me know, and I can refinish it for a small fee. Similarly patina can form on any kind of metal due to oxidation or chemical exposure. Brass, bronze and copper can leave a green residue or tinting to skin which is perfectly normal and can be removed with soap and water. This will happen to some folks more than others depending on heat/humidity, diet, and other factors.

Please do not use jewelry cleaners as many can be too harsh. Simply mix a pinch of baking soda with some water, and with an old toothbrush lightly scrub the piece in circular motions, then rinse with water. Be sure not to scrub any stones or oxidized metals, and if cleaning a piece with turquoise in it-be extra gentle. Try to avoid getting water on the turquoise in general. If you have any questions about cleaning your pieces never hesitate to just ask!
