Turtles have been major influences in mythology and origin stories for hundreds of years. They are one of the oldest symbols to represent the Earth. One of my favourite origin stories comes from the Seneca Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). When Mother Sky fell, the great Turtle rose from the waters to break her fall. 

This Turtle necklace features a magical graveyard point plume agate with faceted red garnet gemstone and black smooth onyx eyes. This stone is set in a gold fill bezel. The turtle is all hand sawed, stamped, and polished smooth. The silver has been patina darkened and sanded in places for maximum contrast. This design is Navajo inspired.
 

 It rests on an 18" darkened sterling chain. The pendant is roughly 2.25" tall.
