Prosperity Viking Bind Rune Necklace
Prosperity Viking Bind Rune Necklace
BIND RUNES:
This ring features Elder Futhark runes - so far thought to be the oldest form of runes discovered. Runes were used by ancient Germanic speaking peoples and have become popularly known as "Viking" runes. While much of their actual history and translation is debated, the runes have one common myth in ancient Norse lore that has been patched together by using two different sagas (mainly). In summation, the god Odin is attributed with unlocking the knowledge of the runes. In a story called the Havamal, Odin is said to hang from a tree (possibly Yggdrasil, the Norse World tree) for 9 nights until he in a way earns the runes. Runes are said to posses magical properties. They imbue the one who wears them or the item them are on with what they represent. In the old days, they would be carved into weapons or jewelry. This will come in a jewelry box ready for gifting.
Bind runes are a combination of different runes to create one cohesive meaning or sentiment.
This Bind Rune ring stands for prosperity and is hand created with copper and sterling silver. Comes on a 22” darkened sterling chain.
Front face of the ring measures roughly 3.5“.
