Turtles have been major influences in mythology and origin stories for hundreds of years. They are one of the oldest symbols to represent the Earth. One of my favourite origin stories comes from the Seneca Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). When Mother Sky fell, the great Turtle rose from the waters to break her fall. 

This Turtle necklace features a patterned natural variscite from Lucin, Utah and mini natural variscite stones from the Broken Arrow mine. The silver used is recycled; melted down and rolled back to sheet metal in my own studio. The turtle has been rolled out several times with different textures to create an archaic vibe. The turtle is flanked by two leaf vanes on each side that are affixed to the chain, while the turtle is free moving for balance. This statement piece is meant to be worn higher up on the collar bones. One of a kind.

Measurements:

Necklace is 15", but length can be adjusted. Turtle is roughly 2.25" tall.
