I have officially made a complete switch over from The Stray Arrow to The Cave Lady! This has been a long time coming. I have been silversmithing since 2008, and operating The Stray Arrow Jewelry since 2010. After six wonderful years, it was clear I had outgrown this name. The Stray Arrow was something my mother had called me one day, and it had clicked. A loose quiver away from the pack. Over the past couple of years with the growing popularity of oft used materials like turquoise and arrow themes, something that has been present in my work since day one, the name has been associated with certain things by others that I have never identified with. I strive to be conscious and sensitive of creative rights and cultural misappropriation (appropriation of something from one culture by another taken out of context and not given credit), and feel these two things very important when an artist sells their work. I have always envisioned my work as archaic and primeval. This change is to make my vision and how I see my work clear. The Cave Lady has been a nickname of mine (one of many) for a good while, and rings true, and I'm more excited than ever to bring you all designs new and old in this new format under this new name!
NEW THINGS INCLUDE:
- A newsletter you can sign up for at the bottom of my site. Newsletters will feature things like new item previews, new stones or gemstones available for commissions, new and current stockist info, peer artist highlights and work, and a monthly Rock Appreciation Day on the first of every month.
- New work designs, some now already live in the shop!
- New Society6 site that is in the process of being vamped up.
The Cave Lady is to send the wearer back to the beginning. To channel your inner Cave Lady and let loose. Fluff your hair up a bit, grunt a little, and rejoice in the wonder of warm fires.
Much love -Stasia
